School's out for summer and publishers are releasing a spate of Jane Austen books between August 1 & September. I have been asked to review a few of them, including:
A Walk With Jane Austen: A Journey Into Adventure, Love & Faith, Lori Smith. Click here for her website.
Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, Laurie Viera Rigler. Click here for the website.
Lost in Austen: Create Your Own Jane Austen Adventure, Emma Campbell Webster
Last but not least, I just received the CD, Pride and Prejudice The Musical, Rita Abrams and Josie Brown. For the time being, one full song will be made available for your listening pleasure per week on their website. Here is "It Is A Truth" sung by Darcy, Bingley, and Caroline. Fun!
Can't wait for my reviews? Neither can I. I'm piled deep in Jane Austen fan fiction, a challenging schedule at work, and a humongous family reunion that has assembled kith and kin from Australia, The Netherlands, Curacao, and China, not to mention a few of our fifty states.

You've got plenty to keep you busy! I'll be interested to find out what you think of all of these new Jane Austen ventures.
She's a favorite of mine as well: so much so that I'm hard to please when it comes to updates. (That said, one of my favorite Jane Austen movies is Clueless!)
Period costume movies end up being so romantic for viewers today that we lose the darkness of her irony. Plus Austen's ambiguity doesn't sit well. People want happy endings.
Enjoy your family reunion.
Indeed, Trixie, this is the first time that I am reading JA fan fiction. I've never delved in this area before. In addition, I love the wry ironic side of Austen, not the chick litty side.
As for Clueless, I think Jane would have laughed raucously and approved. Yes, the fam reunion will be a major distraction. Thanks for the good wishes.
You do have a lot on your plate! Am not sure about that song... a klesmer-ish minuet? And I def. didn't like the voice of Elizabeth - do you think it's really Miss Bingley? The voice was too old and pompous sounding for an Elizabeth.
ps - love Clueless too! It's one of those movies I'll run across and watch till the end, no matter how late at night.
So astute of you, Linda. I rechecked the original website and it is Caroline Bingley singing. My head sometimes doesn't connect to my fingers while I am typing!
