What are you doing on July 4th?

We'll be tubing down the James River with a group of 14 folks. Just floating and lolling and laughing and exploring.

Oooh, will my pale Dutch skin burn, but I don't care. It's always FUN!

Have fun! I'm going to be in Paris for July 4th! Should be a bit different than the typical bbq.

Will watch out for snakes, shamu. I need to see the end of Top Chef. And, Delphine, you seriously made me jealous.

Nada. Just a day off from summer school for me. :-(

Delphine, I'm with Ms. Place...seriously green here.

Ms. Place, sounds like a blast. I did a lot of river canoeing/rafting (usually the Russian and/or Sacramento rivers) until I married my dullsville, no camping, etc, husband. It was fun to stop at Sutter's Mill and "pan for gold" along the way. Are there sidetrips planned for your sojurn along the James?

Details! :-)

Will one tiny detail do, PMP? Someone tall, dark and handsome has agreed to come early to set up my grill to make sure it fires on all cylinders.

Dahling, there aren't enough fans in my house to cool me down.

Have fun, Ms. Place! Am hoping to spend the day lolling in a friends pool (and yes, I live right on the ocean, but still go to a pool!). Last year I rode on a float in our town parade, waved at the onlookers and threw candy at children. It was hot - I was miserable. This year, no floats for me!

well this is my first time going to France, or anywhere really. Usually I am the one sitting at home green with envy :) But I am going to take lots and lots of pictures to share with all my blogger friends ;)

I'll be on my boat on the bay enjoying a panoramic (sp?) view of 4 fireworks displays. It's likely there will be nude pseudo-hippies encamped on one island I'll pass on my way home.

This year, having matured, I might refrain from firing roman candles at said hippies.

But then again...
