Since this blog's creation, I have had a 'Save the Internet' button sitting on my side bar. Now, there are only four days left before the FCC decides who can use the internet free and unfettered, us or the big guys like Verizon and Comcast and other cable providers. These rich conglomerates would like to wring more cash out of us before we can access certain sites.The nation's largest telephone and cable companies — including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner — want to be Internet gatekeepers, deciding which Web sites go fast or slow and which won't load at all.
They want to tax content providers to guarantee speedy delivery of their data. They want to discriminate in favor of their own search engines, Internet phone services, and streaming video — while slowing down or blocking their competitors.
Click here and let the FCC know you are against regulation that restricts our access unless we pay up more. I'm already paying $109 per month for high speed internet access and cable service - why does my Internet provider want to squeeze more money out of me, a working stiff? Act now. Do you want these businesses to relegate us to the same status as the people in China who are restricted access to numerous sites?
